100 Happy Days?

Being happy, don't we all want that? Permanent happiness is impossible. Life consists of ups and downs. However, it should be possible to find 1 thing per day that makes you happy.
A few months ago I came across this page.

"CAN YOU BE HAPPY FOR 100 DAYS IN A ROW?"

Yes!
 Maybe?
 No.

Answering this question instantly is easy, probably depending on your mood, how your day went heretofore and your basic view on things and life in general. Are you optimistic? Pessimistic?

Intrigued by this question I read further and found out the purpose of the site, a challenge. Challenge yourself to find 1 thing every day that makes you happy, 100 days in a row, take a picture of it and put it on a social media site of your choice with the hashtag '100happydays'.
Can't be that hard, right?
I was convinced it would be easy. This conviction and sudden motivation led to my first '100 happy days' picture on Instagram. It goes without saying that it was on the same day I discovered the challenge:
March 26th.

July 3rd, my 100th happy day.
My sister and a friend (she was taking the picture) gossiping, taking pictures and slurping cocktails at the Westbar
3 months and 100 pictures later I had really finished the challenge, happily.

My résumé?
Of course it didn't turn my life upside down. And no, I didn't turn it a fulfilled, non-stop smiling hippie.
So what did change?
Well, first of all I realized that it's not that easy to find this one thing every single day, that makes you happy. Because, let's be honest, some days are complete bullshit. Everything goes wrong, the weather god hates you and the only thing you're looking forward to is the end of the day. Finding 'the happy thing' and taking a picture of it is the least of your problems. But somehow you pick your miserable self up and do it anyway.
On quite a few days I thought about quitting. Nobody would've cared and nothing bad would've happened to me. But in the end I decided to get through with it. I do believe it made my day to day life a little more joyful and interesting.
And if this post came out of it, it has to be a good thing.
Right? Right.

And now I wish all of you a happy day. Make the most of it!
